Assemblywoman Russell endorsed by Police Conference of New York, Inc.

The string of endorsements for Assemblywoman Addie Jenne Russell is continuing with the announcement from the Police Conference of New York, Inc., that they are supporting her bid to retain her seat in the New York State Assembly.

The Police Conference has 25,000 members and represents 200 police associations, seven regional police conferences and one retired police association.

"The men and women in law enforcement in the North Country work hard each and every day to keep our communities safe. We know these are challenging times for law enforcement as they are on the front lines as our region battles the heroin epidemic and have regular contact with those that are suffering from mental health issues," Assemblywoman Russell said.

"I have long worked to secure additional funding for police departments in our communities to help our municipalities replace vehicles for routine patrols and purchase surveillance equipment that assists investigators in their efforts to get those offenders who bring heroin and other hard drugs into the North Country off our streets. I will continue that support in the future," she added.

The objectives of the Police Conference of New York, Inc., include the protection of the interests of police officers, the sponsorship of legislation perceived to be in their best interest and assistance to police officers and police organizations.

Assemblywoman Russell has been endorsed by a number of groups and organizations during the current election cycle including the North Country Central Trades Council and its parent organization, AFL-CIO; New York State United Teachers and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
