Village of Dexter buys generator with funding secured by Assemblywoman Russell

Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell, D-Theresa, and Dexter Mayor James R. Eves discuss a generator purchased for the village's municipal building. Assemblywoman Russell secured $5,000 in priority project funding for the purchase of the generator. Mayor Eves said the 25 kw generator had been included in the plans for the new building, which opened its doors on July 20, 2015, but village officials turned to Assemblywoman Russell for assistance when the cost for the generator came in over budget. "We reached out to Addie, and she was able to help us. It definitely helped the village. In this day and age when everything is on computers, we definitely needed an emergency generator to keep us going," he said. Mayor Eves said the generator, which has enough energy to power everything in the municipal building, proved valuable a few weeks ago during a power outage in the village.
