Assemblywoman Jenne presents certificate of merit to retiring Indian River Central School superintendent

I had a chance to stop at Indian River Central School yesterday to congratulate School Superintendent James Kettrick on his four-decade career with the district. The school has seen tremendous growth during Mr. Kettrick's tenure in the district. He was the principal when I was a high school student at Indian River and has been the superintendent during my kids' school days.. I wish him well in his retirement.

Assemblywoman Addie A.E. Jenne presents Indian River School Superintendent James Kettrick with a certificate of merit to honor him for a career at the school that included stints as science teacher, principal and superintendent. He is retiring at the end of the month after serving as superintendent since 2006, ending 41 years of service in the district. He has been a strong leader during a period of growth in the district. He shepherded the installation of renewable energy systems, including geothermal energy in three schools and the completion of a major photovoltaic project. The district has also completed countless capital projects providing enhanced academic and extracurricular opportunities for students and the community during his tenure as a school administrator at Indian River.
